BMX LEGEND DAVE MIRRA GEARS UP FOR THE SNODRIFT RALLY

(January 24th, 2008) BMX legend Dave Mirra trades two-wheels for four this weekend as he makes his debut in the Rally America National Championship at The SnoDrift Rally. Held on over 117 miles of snow and ice covered roads of northern Michigan, the SnoDrift Rally is round one of the nine event 2008 Rally America National Championship. Mirra will drive a Monster Energy Subaru Impreza rally car fielded by the Vermont SportsCar team.

After turning pro in BMX in 1992, Mirra dominated his sport and now
holds the record for most X Games medals, (and most Gold medals). Hehas medaled in every X Games since they started in 1995 and has a current medal count of twenty-one. An icon in the action sports world, he was the first BMX rider to land a double backflip in competition and even as his own video game series, "Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX".

"This is an amazing sport, I`ve had so much fun already," said Mirra.
"I`m serious about rallying and would like to one day be battling the
top guys like Ken Block and Travis Pastrana but right now the goal is
to just finish and get some experience, there are so many variables,
so many challenges, you can`t just jump into it and go flat out."

The SnoDrift Rally challenges America`s best rally drivers with constantly changing weather and road conditions. The forest roads typically feature fresh snow over layers of ice, making tire choice and road position huge factors in the results. Spiked or studded tires are not allowed, making grip anything but consistent.

Mirra was turned on to rallying through his friend and Subaru Rally Team USA driver Ken Block. After completing a training program with Vermont SportsCar in late 2007 Mirra entered and finished a National level rally in Canada in November and competed in a small regional level rally in New Hampshire just last weekend. His co-driver will be experienced Canadian Alan Ockwell. Mirra will be behind the wheel of a
BFGoodrich Tires shod 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i entered in the Open class. Fans can follow the rally with live updates starting Friday afternoon at
